Who is he...
I'm Parker (he/him). You can also call me Nicolas or Bats.
I'm an artist and a writer, focused on my original characters and stories. You can expect some of that here!
Other than that I like to play a lot of video games in my free time. Eventually I'd like to set up little pages recommending some of my favorites. Or, like, just talking about them maybe. My most favorite ever is Hollow Knight <3
Further Info
I got into writing early on, probably around when I started roleplaying OCs on Woolly Hooves (RIP). My own stories spun off from there, with my longest piece, forever unfinished, reaching 50 college-ruled pages of handwriting about as tall as the lines the words rested on. Nowadays I type everything, mostly in Notepad for its simplicity but sometimes in Google Docs for easy sharing—though I detest the latter quite a bit. If I do handwrite something, I prefer using a red pen.
I was a Creative Writing major in college, which taught me a great deal of things I can't specifically remember, but I'm sure they live on in my subconscious. Of particular note is that I developed a great fondness for novels-in-stories, which are novels whose chapters are each short stories that can stand alone, but together help weave an overarching narrative. These sorts of heavily character-driven narratives are my favorites. My own stories largely follow mundane people, even in fantastical settings, because that's personally more compelling to think about than the intricacies of worldbuilding. (Though I do enjoy such in others' works.)
As for art, I started drawing as a child because my sister did. Initially it was wolves and cats and sometimes less realistic creatures, but one day I decided to learn how to draw humans (I believe so I could draw some of my OCs). I looked up a tutorial, all text, and got confused when it said to draw a circle with two pointed ends—but shouldn't that only be one for the chin? So I ignored what the tutorial said and just remembered what I knew a human head looked like. Remember to use reference; it's pretty helpful.
I've come a long way since then, and now I draw more than I write, but I'm still engaging with my stories in creative ways and that's the most important thing.
